The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in the United States in the state of Arizona. It is contained within and managed by Grand Canyon National Park, the Hualapai Tribal Nation, and the Havasupai Tribe. President Theodore Roosevelt was a major proponent of preservation of the Grand Canyon area, and visited it on numerous occasions to hunt and enjoy the scenery. Modern History: Six million years young, the Grand Canyon’s history is exciting and rich telling stories of giants, of ice, of raging waters and of early ancestors which, at one time or another, all created, relied on and lived in the Grand Canyon. New wonders are found every day as the rocks reveal what was and tell an exciting and sometimes unexpected story. For thousands of years, the area has been continuously inhabited by Native Americans who built settlements within the canyon and its many caves. The Pueblo people considered the Grand Canyon (“Ongtupqa” in Hopi language) a holy site and made pilgrimages to it. The first European known to have viewed the Grand Canyon was García López de Cárdenas from Spain, who arrived in 1540.

It will surpass anything you've ever experienced. 5 million visitors each year travel to the Grand Canyon to experience all that is offered as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World designated. if you want to visit tourist attractions, spring and autumn are probably the best time to plan your trip, especially if you plan to hike into the canyon. Both the South Rim and North Rim summer temperatures are offered in the 70's and 80's, but the temperature down in the canyon can reach 110-115 degrees.
